<div style='text-align:Left;'><div><div><p><span>Striped Bass critical habitat (St. Lawrence estuary population) defined by the analysis of available knowledge in 2011 and a scientific advice.</span></p><p><span>The status of the Striped Bass population of the St. Lawrence Estuary is in constant evolution. It went from indigenous population until the end of 1960 to designated extirpated in Canada under the Species at Risk Act (SARA) in 2011.</span></p><p><span>Still in 2011, the status of the population of the St. Lawrence Estuary was reassessed by the Committee on the Status of Endangered Wildlife in Canada (COSEWIC) following the Ministère des Ressources naturelles et de la Faune du Québec re-introduction efforts and was designated endangered (COSEWIC 2012). Under SARA, critical habitat must be designated for all threatened, endangered or extirpated species.</span></p><p><span>Habitat essentiel du bar rayé (population de l'estuaire du Saint-Laurent) selon l'analyse des connaissances disponibles en 2011 ainsi qu'un avis scientifique.</span></p><p><span>La situation de la population de bar rayé de l'estuaire du Saint-Laurent est en constante évolution. Elle est passée d’une population indigène jusqu’à la fin des années 1960 à l’inscription en tant qu'espèce disparue du pays dans la Loi sur les espèces en péril (LEP) depuis 2011.</span></p><p><span>Toujours en 2011, la situation de la population de l'estuaire du Saint-Laurent a été réévaluée par le Comité sur la situation des espèces en péril au Canada (COSEPAC) suite à des efforts de réintroduction par le Ministère des Ressources naturelles et de la Faune du Québec et un statut en voie de disparition lui a été octroyé (COSEPAC 2012).
