Ce jeu de données a été conçu pour le Centre national des urgences environnementales (CNUE) d'Environnement et Changement Climatique Canada (ECCC) pour la préparation et l'intervention en cas de déversement d'hydrocarbures. Les polygones de cette couche proviennent de la geodatabase Cartographie des écosystèmes côtiers de l\u2019estuaire et du golfe du Saint-Laurent, créée par l'Université du Québec à Rimouski (UQAR) et par le Ministère Pêches et Océans (MPO)<\/SPAN>. La couche représente les zones semi-végétalisées<\/SPAN>(25-75%) et végétalisées<\/SPAN>(75-100%) dont la <\/SPAN>végétation de marais <\/SPAN>est dominante. <\/SPAN>La région d\u2019étude comprend l\u2019ensemble des littoraux estuariens et maritimes du Québec, à l\u2019exception de certains secteurs dont la majeure partie de la Basse-Côte-Nord et de l\u2019Île d\u2019Anticosti, à l\u2019exception des villages de Kegaska, la Romaine, Chevery, Blanc-Sablon et Port-Menier. Certaines îles au large des côtes de l\u2019estuaire et du golfe font parties de la région couverte, telles que l\u2019Île d\u2019Orléans, l\u2019Isle-aux-Coudres, l\u2019Île Verte et l\u2019Île Bonaventure.<\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/P>

La Cartographie des écosystèmes côtiers de l\u2019estuaire et du golfe du Saint-Laurent a été réalisée conjointement par le Laboratoire de dynamique et de gestion intégrée des zones côtières (LDGIZC) de l\u2019Université du Québec à Rimouski dans le cadre du Projet Résilience côtière (https://ldgizc.uqar.ca/Web/projets/projet-resilience-cotiere) financée par le MELCC; et par l\u2019équipe de Pêches et Océans Canada, dans le cadre de son volet <\/SPAN>Planification pour une Intervention Maritime Intégrée (PIMI) <\/SPAN><\/SPAN>du Plan de Protection des Océans (PPO) ayant pour objectif la mise à jour du Régime de préparation et d\u2019intervention en cas de déversement d\u2019hydrocarbures en milieu marin du Canada.<\/SPAN>La geodatabase mère de la Cartographie des écosystèmes côtiers est hébergée et diffusée<\/SPAN>par<\/SPAN>l'UQAR sur leur plateforme cartographique SIGEC-Web: https://ldgizc.uqar.ca/Web/sigecweb<\/SPAN><\/P>

La caractérisation des <\/SPAN>marais <\/SPAN>a été majoritairement réalisée à partir de la photo-interprétation de photos aériennes RVBI <\/SPAN>prises <\/SPAN>par le MPO (2015-2020) et de photos obliques héliportées <\/SPAN>prises <\/SPAN>par l'UQAR en 2017. Le présent jeu de données inclut aussi en partie les informations <\/SPAN>de stations de validation visitées par l'UQAR (2018-2020)<\/SPAN>utilisées <\/SPAN>pour valider et préciser la photo-interprétation<\/SPAN>.<\/SPAN><\/P>

This dataset was designed for Environment and Climate Change C<\/SPAN>a<\/SPAN>nada's (ECCC) National Environmental Emergencies Center (NEEC) for oil spill preparedness and response.<\/SPAN>The polygonsfrom this layer<\/SPAN>come from the coastal ecosystems geodatabase as part of the Mapping of coastal ecosystems of the Estuary and Gulf of St. Lawrence project<\/SPAN>. <\/SPAN>This layer represents semi-vegetated (25-75%) and vegetated (75-100%) zones<\/SPAN>of which <\/SPAN>marsh vegetation <\/SPAN>is the dominant. <\/SPAN>The study area includes all of the estuarine and maritime coasts of Quebec, with the exception of certain sectors, including most of the Lower North Shore and Anticosti Island, with the exception of villages of Kegaska, la Romaine, Chevery, Blanc-Sablon and Port-Menier. Some islands off the estuary and gulf coasts are part of the region covered, such as Île d'Orléans, Isle-aux-Coudres, Île Verte and Île Bonaventure.<\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/P>

The mapping of coastal ecosystems was carried out jointly by the Laboratory for Dynamics and Integrated Coastal Zone Management (LDGIZC) of the University of Quebec at Rimouski as part of the Coastal Resilience Project (https: //ldgizc.uqar.ca/Web/projets/projet-resilience-cotiere) funded by the MELCC; and by the Fisheries and Oceans Canada team, as part of its <\/SPAN>Integrated marine response planning (IMRP) <\/SPAN><\/SPAN>component of the Oceans Protection Plan (OPP), with the objective of updating the Marine Oil Spill Preparedness and Response Regime of Canada.<\/SPAN>The mastergeodatabase of coastal ecosystems is hosted and distributed by UQAR on their SIGEC-Web mapping platform: https://ldgizc.uqar.ca/Web/sigecweb<\/SPAN><\/P>

The characterization of <\/SPAN>marshes <\/SPAN>was mainly carried out using photo-interpretation of RVBI aerial photos acquired by DFO (2015-2020) and oblique photostaken by helicopteracquired by UQAR in 2017. This dataset also includes the information from validation stations visited by UQAR (2018-2020)<\/SPAN>, used<\/SPAN>to validate and refine the photo-interpretation<\/SPAN>.<\/SPAN><\/P>
